About Us

Our Mission

To preserve and protect the good mental health and wellbeing of men aged 16 and over, particularly but not exclusively in Merseyside, for the public benefit by:

a) providing and facilitating access to peer support, therapeutic physical activity (including football), and opportunities for social connection;

b) delivering workshops, events, and other activities designed to improve mental health, reduce isolation, and strengthen emotional resilience;

c) advancing education and raising awareness of mental health issues affecting men through campaigns, talks, and community engagement;

d) providing information, signposting, and support services to those experiencing or at risk of experiencing mental health difficulties;

e) supporting the families of those affected by mental health challenges, where appropriate.

What We Do

Mersey Mind Project delivers four core programmes designed to support men’s mental health in accessible, non-clinical ways.

Mersey Football Therapy provides a safe, inclusive environment where participants can engage in football while naturally opening up through conversation, helping to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing without pressure to talk.

The Listening Space offers a relaxed, informal setting where individuals can connect over a brew, listen, or share at their own pace, removing the stigma often associated with traditional support groups.

Mersey Bootcamp Therapy combines structured physical activity with social connection, helping participants build routine, confidence and resilience while improving both physical and mental health.

Mersey Cycling Therapy, funded by Cycling UK, is not just about getting out on bikes – it uses movement, fresh air, and connection to help people feel stronger, clearer, and more grounded, building confidence, independence, and a positive mindset that supports long-term mental wellbeing and resilience.

Together, these programmes create multiple entry points into support, ensuring individuals can engage in a way that feels comfortable, relatable and sustainable.
