MERSEY MIND PROJECT

Mersey Mind Project is a community-driven initiative committed to empowering men throughout Merseyside to take charge of their physical and mental wellbeing. Our goal is to challenge harmful stereotypes around masculinity and open up honest conversations about men’s health.

about Us

Through practical resources, educational sessions, and strong social support, we aim to equip men with the tools they need to proactively manage their health. At the heart of our work is the belief that supporting men’s physical, emotional, and mental health leads to stronger individuals, families, and communities. We strive to create a safe, welcoming environment where men can talk about challenges such as obesity, depression, and anxiety, while also being encouraged to take meaningful steps toward improving their wellbeing. Our mission is to create lasting, positive change – one man at a time.

Many communities across Merseyside, particularly in more deprived areas, face deep-rooted health and social inequalities. Men in these areas have significantly lower life expectancy – up to 12 years less – compared to those in wealthier communities. Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression are widespread, but stigma continues to prevent many men from seeking help.

Our Sessions

Building on proven success, our football therapy sessions offer a casual, welcoming environment where men can enjoy fitness, social connection, and improved mental health. This programme isn’t about competition – it’s about connection, movement, and support. Join us today!
Our peer groups and social events provide a safe space for men to connect, talk, and support one another. Topics range from mental health to healthy lifestyle choices. These gatherings combat isolation and create strong support networks that can significantly improve wellbeing. Join us today!
Our Bootcamp Therapy is not just about getting active together – it uses movement, connection, and structure to help people feel stronger, clearer, and more grounded, building confidence, routine, and a positive mindset that supports long-term mental wellbeing and resilience. Join us today!
Our Cycling Therapy, funded by Cycling UK, is not just about getting out on bikes – it uses movement, fresh air, and connection to help people feel stronger, clearer, and more grounded, building confidence, independence, and a positive mindset that supports long-term mental wellbeing and resilience.
